WELCOME TO THE SOUTH MORNINGTON JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB (SMJFC)

Set amongst the lush parklands of Citation Reserve, South Mornington Junior Football Club has been operating since 1970 and is home to over 400 members and officials. We proudly field boys, girls, and mixed teams across age groups from U8 to U17, along with a thriving AusKick program for our youngest players.

South Mornington Junior Football Club is built on a strong community spirit and a fun, family-friendly environment, making it a welcoming place for players of all ages and abilities.

We are proud to offer modern facilities that continue to evolve, ensuring the best possible experience for our players and families. Our clubrooms, opened in 2019, provide a welcoming and functional space for the entire SMJFC community.

Recent upgrades include new digital scoreboards on both ovals and top oval lighting, making South Mornington JFC the only club in the MPJFL with two ovals equipped for twilight and night games.

The SMJFC competes in the Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League (MPJFL), which has been in operation since 1970 and consists of 15 clubs and approximately 135 teams.

Fought the game out strongly.

The Under 17.5s took on tough opposition in EDI ASP Eagles and fought the game out strongly. There was plenty of effort across the ground and a solid platform to build on from round one.

Kept competing right to the final siren.

Our Under 16s faced a strong Somerville side and kept competing right to the final siren. It was a challenging start, but one that will help set the group up well for the weeks ahead.

The boys kept at it.

The Under 15s came up against a very polished Bonbeach outfit in round one. While the scoreboard did not fall our way, the boys kept at it and will take plenty of lessons into next week.

Learning, teamwork and enjoying their footy.

No scores are kept at this age, and that is exactly how it should be. The focus for our Under 10 Yellow team was on learning, teamwork and enjoying their footy, and it was great to see them out there representing the club.

Plenty of enthusiasm and great signs.

A fun start to the season for our Under 10 Girls, with plenty of enthusiasm and great signs already. At this level it is all about building confidence, developing skills and loving the game.

A great day in the sunshine at Crib Point.

These teams travelled to Crib Point for the season opening carnival. It was hard to tell it was the first game ever for some of these kids as they had a great day in the sunshine at Crib Point. We hope the families enjoyed the day and look forward to having these teams at home int he coming weeks.
